Figures issued by the Hon. IL f. Armstrong, Minister of Employment show that the total number of males wholly or partly dependent on the Employment Promotion Fund at December 19 was 39,072. Details, with November-figures in parenthesis, are as follows: —Registered but not on relief, 2307 (2258) ;> Rationed relief work under scheme No. 5, 10,085 (11,141); sustenance without work, 20,164 (22,068); full-time employment wholly or partly paid from the Unemployment Fund, 6786 (6874). Totals : 39,072 (42,341). , The decrease for the four weeks of December was 3,269, making , a reduction of 18,209, as compared with the total for December, 1935.
