PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

SOCIAL EVENING. A very enjoyable social evening, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Ladies -Social Guild, was held in the schoolroom last night. At a suitable juncture, Mr R-. T. Betty, choirmaster, made two presentations on behalf of the choir, to two members, Misses M. Barron and U. Thomson, who are removing from the district. The presentations consisted -of two beautifully bound copies of the “Church Praise.” Mr Betty said the choir regretted the loss of .two such valuable and talented members and wished them the best of good luck in the future. Miss Barron; in responding, said it had been a pleasure to assist in the service of praise and the token of appreciation would remind her of the happy association with the choir. The recipients were accorded musical honours. Dhring the evening much appreciated items were contributed by Mrs Svnion, elocutionary; a pianoforte duet by Joyce and Douglas Clark, and a vocal item by a particularly talented young vocalist in the person of Miss Treve Nockles. Games and competitions followed by supper concluded a very happy social gathering. The hostesses were Mesdames Baird, Everton, Heath and. Brooks.
