MINISTER' S INSPECTION OF WHIROKINO DELAYED.

'Though the tour of public works undertakings in the South Island by the Minister (Hon. R. Semple) has not been completed, Mr J. Hodgens, M.P., who accompanied him on the visit, returned to Palmerston North on 'Thursday.

'Their itinerary was interrupted by advice of the King’s death, but they 1 intend to resume the tour as soon as practicable. Meanwhile the Minister has a steadily accumulating list of en-: gagements, and it is now probable that his projected visit to the Manawatu, principally to inspect the Whirokino area, will not eventuate as early ag expected.
