The illustrations in this week’s issue of the N.Z. Sporting and Dramatic Review, will make an appeal to all tastes as they cover a wide variety of interesting subjects. The centre pages cover photographs of the Auckland Mounted Rifles Regiment at Cornwall Park, incidents at the Sydney Trotting Derby, the Auckland Chess Club and the Warwick Farm race meeting. The farewell to “Uncle Scrim.” in the Town Hall is featured in a remarkable photographic fudl page. The shooting season is depicted in a series of outstanding pictures from Southland and Wanganui and there is a beautiful full-page photograph of a hunting scene in North Canterbury. The Japanese naval squadron’s visit is also depicted. The issue, which is full of interesting reading matter, is procurable at all leading booksellers.
