GIRL GUIDES AND BROWNIE ASSOCIATION.
GARDEN PARTY,
In spite of the adverse weather conditions, there was an excellent attendance at the party given by Mr§ 'S. Austin, at her residence on Tuesday, in aid of the Brownie funds. The afternoon was to have talklen the form of a garden party but owing to the rain this idea had to be abandoned and the party was held indoors. In the spacious rooms games and competitions were held and a thoroughly enjoyable time was spent. Airs AY. Trueman was the winner of one game and after keen competition, Airs P. A. Alason was pronounced the winner of another. A delicious afternoon tea was served, following which fortunetelling by Airs AA r . Smith and Aliss ,1. Bowe created great- amusementand interest.
The hostess was accorded a vo,te of thanks by the committee members for the pleasant afternoon’s entertainment, as the result of which the Brownie funds will be considerably augmented.
