• GOLFING WIVES. For a long' time the male golfer lias been portrayed in humorous papers as an unmitigated bore or ns an extremely short tempered individual with a. somewhat explosive vocabulary. No doubt the average man who indulges in the Royal and Ancient Game will be pleased to hear that some one has at last come forward to sing his praises—though his remarks concerning the fair sex are the reverse of complimentary. A titled gossip writer in an entertaining hook just published declared that men golfers make charming husbands, whereas, golfing women make atrocious wives. Everyone is, of course, entitled to his opinion and doubtelss, we shall soon hear what some golfing woman thinks of gossip writers! Men wbm declare that. Red Shield (Dadki) and Blue Shield (Medium) are New Zealand Tobaccos at their best have good reason for their opinion, because that is why they are so much better.
