N.Z. RAILWAY FINANCES.
INCREASE 1 IN NET REVENUE.
On Saturday Mr H. H. Sterling, chairman of the Government Railways Board, announced the financial results' of railway working for the four-weekly period which ended on September 15. For the four weeks there was an increase . ingross revenue of £33,684 and an increase in expenditure of £31,214, resulting in an increase in net revenue for the period of £2,470. For the portion of the financial year from April 1 to Sepetmber 15, gross revenue has increased by £175,697, expenditure has increased by £120,118, resulting in an increase in net revenue for that portion of the financial year of £55,579 as compared with the corresponding portion of last financial year.
