Mrs D. R. Barron, of Robinson Street, is spending a holiday in Marton.

Miss Meta Mason, who recently underwent an operation in the Palmerston North Hospital, has returned to her home.

Don Bradman, the famous Australian batsman, whose condition after a recent operation gave cause for alarm, is now making good progress towards recovery. The appointment of Mr F. J. Shanks as deputy director-general of the Post and Telegraph Department, in succession to Mr John Robertson, is announced.
