Mrs D. R. Barron, of Robinson Street, is spending a holiday in Marton.
Miss Meta Mason, who recently underwent an operation in the Palmerston North Hospital, has returned to her home.
Mrs H. 'Cornford, of “Greenlea,” Haleombe, is at present on a visit to her daughter, Mrs Wm. J. Ross, of Poplar. Don Bradman, the famous Australian batsman, whose condition after a recent operation gave cause for alarm, is now making good progress towards recovery. The appointment of Mr F. J. Shanks as deputy director-general of the Post and Telegraph Department, in succession to Mr John Robertson, is announced.
