LOCAL LAD’S SUCCESS.
Recently Ave made mention that an ex-Foxton lad, Mr Chas. A. Newson, now of Rotorua, had gained distinction for himself by Avinning an Australasian competition Avith a song composition entitled “A Blue Lagoon.” Mr Newson has noAV had the song published and it is finding a ready sale throughout the country. We have just received a copy from the producer and it is certainly a very fine composition Avhich, no doubt, Avill become the popular tune of the day Avithin a very short time. It is being broadcast frequently from Australia and the publishers style it “the Avaltz of the century.” “The Blue Lagoon” will be broadcast froiu 2HD, 170 meters, Australia, betAveen 6.40 and 7 p.m. (Australian time) on 7th and 14th August, so local xvireless enthusiasts will have an opportunity of hearing this popular number “over the air.’-’
Air NeAVson is making arrangements for his song to be on sale locally, while he expects to publish a further number at an early date.
