HERRINGTON GOLF CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Herrington Golf Club .was held in the Racing Club’s office on Thursday* evening presided over by Mr F. A. Mason. Also present were Messrs Trueman, Easton, Robinson, Pedersen, Wilson, Gavin, J .D. Purcell, J. H. Purcell, and the secretary (Mr J. Newton). The report and balance sheet was adopted. It was decided to officially open the 1934 season at 1.15 p.m. on Saturday, March 24th, when a mixed foursome match will be played. The secretary was instructed to arrange for inter-dub matches with Bulls, Manawatu, Palmerston North, Shannon and Levin Clubs, ihe games to be played on Saturdays.
Resignations from the committee were received from Messrs AT. B. Bergin and D. R. Ogilvy with regret, the vacancies being filled by Messrs C. E. Pedersen and W. M. Thomas. The election of officers resulted as follows: —
President: Mr F. A. Mason; Captain: Air W. M. Thomas; Secretary: Mr J. Newton; green superintendent: Air A. P. Easton; committee: Messrs R- Robinson, C. W. Pedersen, W. Trueman. It- was resolved that the clubhouse be painted. Mr. D. R. Ogilvy signified his intention to donate q cup for the men’s competition. Tt was decided to invite representatives from Alanawatu, Levin, Shannon, Palmerston and Bulls Clubs to be present at the official opening.
