“A SUPERIOR PERSON.”

.MEMBER FOR RANGITIKEI

REBUKED BY MB. WRIGHT

Mr. R i. A. Wright (Government, Wellington Suburbs) in the House of Representatives on Thursday, made a vigorous attack on Mr. A. Stuart (Government, Rangitikci). Mr. Wright warmly criticised the attitude which Mr. Stuart always adopted in the House. Mr. Stuart had only been in Parliament for cloven months, but lie tried to lecture men who, had been in_ Parliament for years, said Mr. Wright. The member for Rangitilkei told other members that they were talking nonsense or that they did not know what they were talking about. He had ventured to criticise the member for Hutt, whose hoots he was not fit to brush.

‘Tic is fit,” interjected Mr. D. G. Sullivan (Labour, Avon). Mr. Speaker asked Mr. Wright to withdraw the expression he had used in reference to Mr. Stuart, and 'he remark was willingly withdrawn. Mr. Wright added that the member for Hutt had forgotten more than Mr. Stuart ever know about the sales tax and many other things. Mr. Stuart, when he accused other members of talking nonsense, should say where (he weakness lay in his brother members’ argument. Mr. Stuart should not regard himself as a modern Solomon or a superior person.
