PRESBYTERIAN LADIES’ SOCIAL GUILD.

Mesdames M. E. Perreau and Nockles entertained a splendid attendance of members and friends of the P.W.S. Guild at, the residence of Mrs Perreau, Lady’s Mile, yesterday. Mrs J. A. E. Preston presided. A letter of thanks from Mrs A. Ross for a motion of sympathy in her illness, passed at the annual meeting, 'was read by the secretary. Two competitions caused keen interest, the outdoor one being- Avon by Mrs Preston and the conundrum by'Mrsj Thomson. A delicious afternoon tea was dispensed hv the hostesses.

Before dispersing, Mrs Perreau (vice-president) referred to the departure from the district of the president (Mrs Preston) and expressed the regret of all the members at her departure. On behalf of the members she wished Mrs Preston happiness and God-speed in her neAV home.

Mrs Preston suitably replied, and said how sorry she was to go as she had had such a happy time in Foxton. She moved a vote of thanks to the hostesses for the enjoyable afternoon they had provided.

The members and friends of the Guild are entertaining Mrs Preston at a farewell in the Sunday schoolroom to-morrow evening. All friends of Mr and Mrs Preston are cordially invited to be present.
