Railways Fighting The H Slump. A big obstacle to; New Zealand’s full recovery .-from .the slump is the huge aggregate cost of land transport, of which motor-traffic accounts for three-fourths. The annual toll of landtransport has amounted to £36 out of every £IOO worth of production. New Zealand cannot afford this crushing burden. fThe railways can lighten the load. Use the Railways for Recovery.
