The Foxton 'Chamber of Commerce forwarded a letter to the monthly meeting of the Hovoavlicnua County Council at Levin on Saturday, stating that its attention had been drawn to the number ot accidents on the bad bonds just south of the Whirokino Bridge. “While the Chamber fully appreciates (lie good work being carried out in higlnvny matters by your council, mid realises that you are anxious to have this road straightened and scaled right up to the bridge, it is suggested that possibly some immediate improvement at the corners mentioned could be undertaken under the No; 5 unemployment scheme,” concluded the letter. The chairman (Mr G. A. Monk) stated that as the work was on the estimates it could not be done under the No. 5 scheme. He suggest • cd that the Foxton Chamber of Commerce be recommended to approach the Alain Highways Board to have the road properly finished. The engineer (Air Brewster) stated that a complete plan of woiks was being submitted to the Board that day. A letter is to 'be forwarded to the Chamber of Commerce.
