CAR CRASHES INTO POLE.

TWO MEN KILLED. Dunedin, March 11. John Fraser, married, Oamaru manager for Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., and William Cooper, married, taxi proprietor, of Mosgiel, were killed in a motor accident at Clarendon, near Milton, early this morning. Two other occupants of the car, Charles Harry Leith and Cecil Hazlett, escaped serious injury. The car was coming through to Dunedin from Pembroke. Apparently it skidded in loose shingle and sheered across the road into a telegraph pole. Mr. Leith was driving. Oamaru, March 11. ‘ j The late Mr. Fraser, who was local manager for Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co., was president of the Chamber of Commerce, a borough councillor, treasurer of the A. and P. Association, and a member of other public bodies. He had resided at Oamaru for twenty-two years, and leaves a widow, Madame Winnie Fraser, who is a well-known 1 singer, and two children.
