SOCIAL AND PRESENTATION.
Tin* combined Bible Classes held a social gal boring in the Presbyterian schoolroom on Monday evening for the purpose of extending a welcome to the Rev. and Airs. Predion and daughter and to farewell Aliss Margaret Barron. Mr M. Baird, secretary, presided and extended a cordial welcome to the new minister on behalf of the combined classes. Mr. Preston in acknowledging the welcome said lie would in- pleased to co-operate in any way to promote the welfare of the young people’s organisations. AUs. John Ross, expressed regret at the departure of Miss Margaret Barron who is to proceed to Dunedin to undergo a course of training in connection with physical education. On behalf of the members she presented ATiss Barron with a traveller’s outfit and wished her every success in her course of inslrue thm. All regretted her departure as Margaret had taken a very keen interest in the welfare of the Bilik Class movement locally. Miss Barron, in a. neat speech, acknowledged the kindly sentiments and token ol goodwill. During the evening pro gressive games and competitions were indulged in interspersed wit! musical and elocutionary items The competition winners were MisiMargaret Barron and Frank Cow lev. Elocutionary items were contributed by Misses Stevenson am E. Tapp, pianoforte duet, by Misses Patterson and Joan Afason and selections on the month organ by Mr Anderson. A tasty supper was provided and the singing of “Auk Lang Sync” concluded a very en lovable social gathering.
