DRUNK IN CHARGE OF A CAR.

SUBSTANTIAL FINE INFLICTED.

Woodville, Last Night. At the Police Court this morning Henry Charles Robjohns, of Napier, was fined £25 for being drunk while in charge of a car on Saturday night last. His license was suspended and he will be unable to renew it until June, 1930. Whilst waiting for a train to pass a road crossing at Waikohu, Gisborne, yesterday, a horse ridden by Peter Burns took fright and ran into a carriage of the train. The gas generator caught the horse and carried it and the rider over a cattle stop before throwing them clear. Mr. Burns when picked uji was unconscious. He is suffering from slight concussion. The gas generator was torn from the carriage.
