Palmerston N., October 13,

Described as a seaman, of Wellington, Hubert Gurney, aged 26, appeared before Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M., in the) Magistrate’s Court this morning, charged with stealing on September 26, £220 in money, the property of.the Palmerston North Borough Council. On the application of Senior Detective Quirke, accused was remanded to next Wednesday. Bail was not asked for.
