SPRING BULB SHOW.

The Foxton Horticultural Society’s Spring Bulb Show was opened in the Masonic Hall this afternoon by His Worship the Mayor (Mr. M. E. Perreau). The entries are well up to standard, notwithstanding the fact that the decorated table, and pot plant sections have had to_ he omitted owing to lack of space. Right throughout, the exhibits are very good, especially considering the adverse weather conditions that have been experienced of late. Mr. Reynolds (Otaki) has a very fine exhibit in the open class for bulbs and Messrs Gibson (Marton) and Shailer (Palmerston N.) have also on show some very fine blooms. The Home Industry class this year constitutes, a record the entries being particularly good. There are large entries in the Decorative class. The arrangement of exhibits is very nice, and all classes are tastefully set out, the hall lending itself admirably for flower show purposes. All lovers of flowers should make a point of visiting the show this evening. Doors open at 7 o’clock.
