POWER CONSUMERS GROWING

INCREASES IN FIVE MONTHS,

Steady progress continues in the electrical development of the Horowhenua Power Board’s district. During the month just past 28 new consumers have signed up and in this number there are 10 waterheaters, 4 ranges, 6 milking motors and 2 industrial motors, totalling 76 h.pt Seventeen applications have been received for extensions to existing installations, and these include 8 milking motors, 7 waterheaters and 3 ranges. Forty new consumers have 'been connected up, installations comprise 27 milking and separating motors, 27 waterheaters, and 11 ranges.

The following comparison shows the total number of consumers and installations in March and at the present time: — Mar. Aug. Inc. Con. connected 2172 237,7 205 Industrial motors 147 158 11 Milking motors 230 275 45 Ranges 149 192 43 Waterheaters 297 370 73 Tho industrial motors represent a total of 2045 h.p. and the milkin motors 422 h.p.
