Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have, .received the following cable from London, dated 10th February, 1020: —“As compared with January closing sales, the present opening sales show merinos and tine crossbreds unchanged, medium crossbreds firm, inferior crossbreds neglected.*’

The Department of Agriculture lms i received the 'following cablegram, .dated 10th 'instant, from the High Commissioner for N T 'ew Zealand, London: — “Tenth series Government wool sales have commenced, last night large attendance buyers, satisfactory competition. Compared with last series, best Merinos and fine crossbreds ruled at about closing rates. Medium and inferior merinos 5 per cent, cheaper. Coarser crossbreds neglected. 140,000 bales shorn wools available,, series of which New Zealand 51,000, also 21,000 on description, none of which is Now Zealand.’’'
