BOROUGH FINANCES.
The Borough Treasurer reported at Monday night’s Council meeting as follows: —
The sum of £752 14s 7d was received during the month of November, and was placed to the credit of accounts as under: —District fund account £743 14s 7d, cemetery account £9. The balances of the various accounts at the Bank of New Zealand at the 30th day of November, 1919, were as follows; —Interest £0 3s sd, cemetery £SB 17s 2d, reserves £331 17s lid, library £3 15s lid, sanitation £lB9 19s lid, town hall £B7 2s (id, all in credit, a total of £677 16s IOcT. The accounts at debit wore: Imprest cash £lO, gas works £192 6s 3d, general £263 17s 4d, and hospital and charitable aid £2 17s 4d, total £469 Os lid. SUMMARY. A/cs in cred. .677 16 10 Bank Bal. A/c cr. 149 IB 9 A/cs at deb. 469 0 11 £677 lh 10 £677 16 10 The Mayor said he thought the Council should have a jubilee, as this was the first time the District Bund account had been .in credit for many a long day. With the accounts passed for payment that night, however, there would again be a debit of about £l5O. Since the notification that all outstanding rates would be sued for had been made, £752 had been received, and there were now only a few outstanding.
