BOWLING.
Yesterday two teams from the local club, Nye and Rimmer (s) and McColl and Hislop (s), visited Palmerston North and took part in the Patriotic Pairs Tournament held under the auspices of the Manawatu Centre. Five rounds were played and both Foxton teams won two games and lost three. There was a good muster of both bowlers and croquet players on the local ground yesterday. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Bryant. The following are fuilher competition results: — Colts. —Walker (2) 21 beat Large (4) 18, Belly (scr) 27 beat Large (4) 16, Large (4) 25 beat Hooker (4) 19, Ruffell (4) 24 beat Large (4) 15. Colder Cup. —Petrie (1) 26 beat Hore (scr) 9, Presidents. —Woods (5) 27 beat F. Whibley (7) 13, Petrie (7) 25 beat Healey (8l 20, Barr (10) 30 beat D. Whibley (5) 17. Barr (to) 28 beat Healey (8)21, 1). Whibley (5) 25 beat Woods (5) 20, F. Whibley (7) 36 beat Lumsden (14) 25, McColl (4) 31 beat Ball (5) 17, Petrie (7) 29 beat F. Whibley (7) 2i, D. Whibley (5) 23 beat Spring (6) 20.
