Sir,—ln reply to “Worker’s Wife,’’ re the price of groceries, I should like to point out that her’s is a most misleading statement, and utterly without the slightest foundation in fact. “Worker’s Wife” has either been wrongly informed or has deliberately made a false statement for reasons best known to herself. No storekeeper in Foxton has, so far as my knowledge goes, ever charged Ss 6d for solb. of flour, or 12s 6d for sugar. Foxton prices to-day for flour and sugar, in fact for most groceries, compare most favourably with outside so-called wholesale priced houses, aud I think any of the local storekeepers would be pleased to supply at outside prices (plus freight) on the same terms, cash with order, as the outside houses offer.
