ROYAE PICTURES
The star picture at the Royal to-night, “Heir to a Million,” is by the great Latium Company, and is full of exciting adventures. The following is a brief outline of tue story told by pictures:— Nada, the adventuress, Carlos, the card sharper, and Miller, the money-lender, lorm a trio of tricksters. Reading that Frank Desmond, the /anions aviator, has inherited a vast for tune, the tricksters plot to secure his wealth. Miller and Nada pose as Baron Marx and his daughter, and secure an introduction to Desmond, who falls in love with the adventuress. After Desmond has made his will in Nada’s favour, Carlos, posing as the girl’s lover, challenges the young lieutenant to a duel. The adventurer hopes to be able to kill bis opponent, but Desmond proves the more skilful swordsman, and Carlos himself is wounded, A change of spirit comes over Nada, who realises that she is in love with the Lieutenant, Miller and Carlos gain access to Desmond’s aeroplane shed, and damage the engine of his machine so that an accident will be inevitable. In a worried dream Nada seesherlove ascend in his aeroplane and fall to his doom. She cannot bear the thought of such an accident, and go,es to the flying ground to save her lover. Just as Desmond is about to make a flight, Nada rushes to confess the plot, thereby implicating herself and her accomplices. All three tricksters are arrested, and whilst in prison, Nada, visited by Desmond, tells him of her love ere she ends her life by sucking the poison from a ring in her possession.
