OBITUARY.
E. E- SNOW—AGED 56
years.
The death took place at Masterton this morning of a well-known Foxton resident, in the person of Mr E. E. Snow, after a painful illness, aged 56 years. It will be remembered that the deceased, a few weeks ago, proceeded to Masterton to undergo special radium treatment for a cancerous growth in the neck. A careful inspection of the trouble disclosed the fact that the disease had made such inroads that the treatment proved of no avail. The late Mr Snow was. born in Nelson, and was in business as a bootmaker in Palmerston and Foxton for many years. The late Mr Snow was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, yet took a keen interest in political affairs. He leaves a widow and one son to mourn their loss. The funeral takes place at Masterton on Tuesday n ext.
GEORGE SATHERLY—AGED 69 YEARS.
There passed away at his residence No. r L»ne, at 7 o’clock this morning, another of Foxton’s old residents, in the person of Mr George Satherley. The late Mr Satherley was a native of New Zealand having been born in Nelson in 1842. He came to Foxton when he was 22 years of age, and has resided here ever since. For 15 years Mr Satherley was overseer of the Moutoa Estate, at that time the property of the Bank of New Zealand- In 1889 he purchased the farm on No. 1 Line, and has since that time followed the occupation of a dairy farmer. The deceased had been in very indifferent health for some considerable time, and of late had been confined to the house. He leaves a widow, three sons and seven daughters to mourn their loss. .
The funeral will take place on Tuesday, leaving his late residence at 2 o’clock for the Foxton Cemetery. '
