ENTERTAINMENTS.
TAYLOR-CARRINGTON COMPANY.
Local playgoers will be glad to learn that this favourite combination of comedians and vocalists will appear at Foxton on Thursday, 15th iust,, in two of their best plays, “Nothing to Wear,’’ and “An Irish Tigress.” That the company have drawn crowded houses with their new form of entertainment is evidenced by the following extract from the Nelson Colonist: “The Taylor-Carring-ton new comedy bill drew a crammed house at the Theatre Royal. Long before 7 o’clock the crowd began to gather around the ticket boxes, and at 7.15 the doors had to be opened to ease the crush. At 8 o’clock even the orchestra well was full, and numbers were turned away for lack of room. The Taylor - Carrington management are very great favourites with Nelson playgoers, and the enthusiastic manner in which the programme was received proved beyond doubt that their new style of entertainment was highly appreciated by their patrons.” This goes to show that mirth and music are prime factors nowadays in the way of drawing large audiences, so there should be a very big house at the Town Hall on Thursday night to enjoy such an excellent performance.
