DRUIDS’ SOCIAL.

The Druids’ euchre party dance held in the Masonic Hall last night, was a success both socially and financially, the attendance of card enthusiasts and dancers being large. During the earlier part ot the evening, progressive euchre was indulged in by the occupiers of twenty-three tables, and the tournament continued with zest until the call of “time.” The prizes awarded for the winners of the most games—• lady and gentleman—were secured by Mrs Frank Williams and Mr Joe Jillett, and the ‘‘honour and glory” of receiving the booby prizes fell to the lot ot Mrs Frank Spiers and Mr A. Smith. Dancing was indulged in, and about thirtyfive couples tripped lightly to music supplied by Mr F. C. Berthold, A toothsome and abundant supper was handed round, and done lull justice to. Miss Ina Coley kindly contributed an extra. Dancing was continued until the small hours of this morning, and at the termination of the function all present were unanimous in their expressions of the thorough enjoyableness of the affair Bro J. Gillies carried out the duties of M.C. The members of the local J lodge of Druids have every reason to be proud of the success of last night’s euchre party and dance, and congratulations are extended them for the thoroughness of the arrangements connected there' with.
