Potato Growing.

: * The New Zealand Department of Agriculture have just issued a most interesting pamphlet, containing the report of Mr F. Gillanders, the farm overseer at the Momahaki Experi mental Station. With regard to the yield given by the various potatoes grown, we ciip the following : - The following averaged 8 tons or over to the acre : Centennial, White Book, Yilens's Piolifia, Jeannie Deans, Imperator, Abundanco, Findlay's Good Hope, Button's The Bruce, Findlay's The Bruce While Elephant, Windsor Castle, Yitche'rf Number One, Beauvan's De Bau Vans, Bissie Paldies, Burpee's Sn perior, Federations. It will be noticed that some of the above are " second eariies," and, considering the Beason, 8 tons to the acre must be considered a very good crop. Seven tons or over per acre : Her Majesty, Findlay's Her Majesty. Brown Rivers, Findlay's Early Beauty, Bride's Prolific, White Fiephant, Magnum Bonum, Sutton's Abundance, Early Puritan, Early Rosp, Freeman. Six tons to the acre: Richtei'o Imperator, The Button Flour-ball Findlay'sConqnest, Satton's Windsor Castle, Northern Kidney, Sutton's Reading Russet, Sutton's Satisfaction, Snowflake, Dakota Red, Child's Market Harvest, Mammoth Peral, Myatt's Prolific, Findlay's Early Beauty, Lap?tone Kidney, Subton', Early Regent. Five tons or over per acre : Paragon, Findlay's Jeannie DeansBritish Queen, Suttons Triumph, Rubicune. Snowdrop, Beauty of • Hebron Devonian, Sailors' Ironclad, Main Crop Kidney, Berkshire Kid ney. The following early varietie? might also be worth trying:—Chester •Favourite, Dickson's Round, Seerling Extra, Early Short Lip, King of the Eariies.
