.A bog, half a mile wide and 80 feet deep, is floating towards the : Lakes of Killarney. Bridges and roads have been destroyed, and the River Flesk, which flows into tbe lake, is blocked by the bog, and the transport of farm produce and cattle is interfered with. The electric light works are stopped, and Killarney ! is in a state of semi-darkness. The United States correspondent of the Tirana telegraphs that Sir ; Julian PaucKJefote, British Minister, and Mr Olney, Secretary for State, have nearly agreed on a general \ treaty of arbitration between the two ; countries on the' basis of Lord Salisbury's scheme.
