Nominations for all events, except Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (first day) and Trial Handicap (sccoud day), close with the Secretary at Foxton on Thursday, December 31st, 1896, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day's races will be declared on the 9th January, 1897. Acceptances for first day's races close on Saturday, January 16' h, 1897, at 9 p.m. Entries for Trial Hurdles and Anniversary Stakes (fir^t day), and Trial Handicap (second day), close on Saturday, January 16th, 1897, at 9 p m. Weights for second day's races will be declared oa Friday evening, January 22nd, at 8 p.m. Acceptances close same evening at 9 p.m. Definition of Hacks. Hanks shall m°nn horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding the net sum or value of 40 soys. at time of start (Hack and Hunter raco3 esccpted.) In all nominations description, age ana pedigree must be given, together with the colours of the rider. The advertised fee must in every case accompany nomina'ions and noccp'tahcos.' All races to be run under tho "Rules of Racing;" .. ' No betting allowed on the course except through the medium of the totalisator. The Committee reserve tho right to alter any of the above dates.
