The Lorraine Melodists.

It will be of interest to our readers to know that the above company gave a concert at Danevirke the other day in aid of the Flood Eelief Fund, and were exceedingly well received. The Bush Advocate says, taken as a whole, the entertainment was a pleasijg success, and all those who took part have reason to be thoroughly satisfied with the reception accorded their efforts. The duet, areUhfe wild waves saying,' by Mr Tansley and Miss Mabel, was finely ' rendered, the excellent bass and soprano voices blending to a nicety. ' Lost in. the flood,' as sung -by Spas Florence, was one of the best items of the evening. An encore followed, but was not acceded to, the songstress bowing her acknowledgements. Miss Hetty was deservedly recalled, for the rendition of ' Love was once a little boy,' and the concluding verse was repeated. An ;. encore resulted from the singing of -tlie quartette, 'Pro Phundo Basso* 1 by Misses Florence and Hetty, and Messrs Thomson and Duff. The music was excellent, and together with the comic element contained in the number, necessitated its repetition. Mis 3 Guy sang ' Cherry Ripe ' in a style which displayed ' her finished and sweet toned voice to great advautuge. A recall ensued, and was complied wi^i.,by^umipg •The Old Folks at rfiosj£>asfe Misses Mabel and Florence, in.
