HOUSE OP EEPRESENTATIVES. Tuesday, July 4th. The following Bills were read a first time: — Native Reserves Administration ; Post Office Acts Amendment ; Shipping and Seamen's Act Amendment, Ward Conservation of Bights ; Otago Harbour Board Empowering, Representation Act Amendment, Boarding and Lodginghouses. The Ellesmere Lake Lands Bill was passed through committee, read a third time and passed. The Colonial Treasurer moved the second reading of the Civil Service Insurance Bill. After some debate the second reading was carried. The Electoral Bill and the Payment of Members Bill were read a second time. The Premier moved the Imprison ment for Debt Abolition Bill, providing that no person may be imprisoned for any sum not exceeding £100. After discussion the debate was aejourned. On resuming at 7.80 p.m., the House went into Committee of Supply, Mr Bees in the chair. The Hon J. G. Ward, Colonial Treasurer, delivered the Financial Statement.
