■* — ■ — London. The British Government are avming the Belfast night police with revolvers. It is reported that Archbishop Loguc, of Armagh, will be created a cardinal instead of Archbishop Walsh, of Dublin, because the latter failed to promulgate an important decision of the Pope in Ireland. Mr Michael Pavitfc, recently unseated for North Meath on the grounds of intimidation by the priests, has been asked to contest North-east Cork, for which constituency it is said Mr William O'Brien will shortly resign.
