CORRESPONDENCE.
« We are not responsible for the statements or opinions of correspondents. TO THE KDITOIt OP THE MANAWATU HEUALD. Sir,— rAs I view it of the^greatest^ importance~etntr our largest Tocal industry should have its product represented at the Chicags Exhibi tion. I shoulcl like to suggest that a subscription be got up to pay the expenses of sending 10 tons of hemp to that Exhibition. I shall be $¥ad to give £5 towards it as a start and perhaps others who are personally interested would soon make up the requisite sum. Although flax is fetching a fair price just now, the fluctuations in it have been so great that there is no telling how soon it may be down below paying point again. And it is only by advertising its good pioperties that we can^ expect people to recognise them;" Since Government refuse to do anything the best thing is for flaxmill owners and those who derive revenue from the green flax, as well as merchants who are making a profit out of it should lose no time in having the industry properly represented. — I am &c, James G. Wilson.
