To illustrate what he meant by . going direct to the point Mr Spurgeon told how he had one day met a laboring man on a hot day resting for a moment with a loaded barrow and wiping the perspiration from his forehead. «• It's, a hot day, niy ntenj'said Mr Spurgeon sympathetim «(/WftK r? 6 !* it..|a," said the man, foofing itraight at Spurgoon, " and I never seed a man look more like standing a pint of beer than you in ; ' my life." " That man," -Baid Mr Spurgeon. " went straight to the point." We are not, however, informed whether he got any nearer to the " pint."
