REPLY TO SHORT HOURS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE MANAWATU HEBALD. Sib, — In answer to the letter in your last issue re early closing, I should like to explain for the benefit of "Short Hours " why a light has bsen observed (although it \ would have4aken a close observer to notice it) in the " small fry " establishment. During this last fortnight we have been receiving large shipments of goods in anticipation of large returns for the present season, • which has fully stocked our shelves, and in consequence of disposing of our'Palmersfcon branch we have had an extra r*Siiipment of 29 cases, which has con- * smerably overstocked us, and I think we have been at perfect liberty to come back for two or three nights to prepare this large stock for sale, without consulting " Short Hours " or any other of the honourable storekeepers. lam sure the public, after an inspection of our large stock, will fully coincide with us, and I can eafely assert that those who deal with us will find us all that is just r.nd honourable. Whilst thanking you in anticipation for your time and space.— l am, &c, Frank Eube, r ttmch-mwißger fgr LovecUy Bros.
