Sevekth—Tlig deaths among lives assured were 049 under 785 policies, causing claims upon th« Society amounting to £299,602. irrespective of Bonus additions, while the niim- 1 ber expected according to the Tables ( usi d in estimating the liabihtu s would have been 1143, for an amount of £488,976, the mortality experience being thus extremely i favourable. Eighth — The receipts from interest and r-ents were £516,882, an amount exceeding the sum paid for j the claims by £188,952. Ninth— The expenses of management were only 9.5 per cent, of the i total receipts. Tenth — The cash surplus divided for the year 1889 was £426,494, being at the rate of 41 5 per cent, on tho premiums received.
