The much talked of, long expected :antataof the "Flower Queen" if Sxed to tiff given on the third of next month. W«; belive. from the sonstant practices and the interest jhown by the perform©*, that this performance will be one well worth attending. It promises to ha * very pretty flight, as the dresses are frying made appropriate to : 'the part ixisumed aod as there are a larg* number of flowers, the ladies- have a lai'ge field in which their ioventive and artistic taste can be shown. It is too soon to give too full patticulars of the piece, hut we should recommend every one to secure a ticket. The cantata is divided into three parts, and the solos are takeft by the fel'ow ing flowers :*-Reclus© t Crocus, Dahlia, Japonica, Sunflower, Rose, and Hollyhock, besides which, there are duets and choruses by all the flowers. We haye been assured by those who have seeo one of these performances, that they are yery pretty, and the music very pleasing ; and from what we have seen of the efforts of the promoters, we feel se* cure in realising our best expecta* tions. We shallon another occasion, previous to the performance^ give further particulars, both of the piece, and if possible, of the dresses. • ■ ■ ■ * r " f Mi' '' f
