MANCHESTER HIGHWAYS BOARD ELECTION.

An election took place for a Warden for No. 1 Ward yesterday, and resulted in the return of Mr P. Bartholomew, who polled about double the number of votes recorded for his opponent, Mr J. C Thompson. It is said there was an informality in connection with the election, owing to the necessary declaration by the Returning Officer not having been made before a J. P.
