MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.
♦ A genoral meeting of the Club was held at Whyte'R Hotel on Tuesday last The Chairman (Mr I. T. Stewart), stated that the principal business was to consider the qunstion of sending crews to the Wanganui regatta. After some diftcussion it was decided to enter boats for the following events :— Senior and Junior fours inrigged. Junior fours outrigged, race for men under lOst weight, and for the Ladies' Plate (senior fours nutrigged for plate and £25 ) A Mitch C>mmittee, consisting of Messrs Howe, Stowart, and Syraons, were chosen to select crews. Mr A. J. Whvte then proposed that medals be presented to the senior crew for the manner in which they had upheld the honor ard diimity of Foxton in the contests in which they had been engaged. The speaker said it would be a graceful means of showing that the able services the crew had rendered were appreciated. A suggestion was made that cups should be presented instead of medals, but eventually it was decided to present gold medals t"the crew, and Messrs Whyte and Liddell were appointed to obtain them.
