THE KAIKANGA LAND SALE.
The land sale at P-ilmerston of the Kairangi Block was a brilliant success. o<it of 22 sections in Kairanga sold on deferred payment 17 were applied for, nine being contested. Iv Fitzherbert three sectioas were applied tor, two being contested. In Arawaru one section was applied for. The total upset value of the* 17 Kairans?a deferred payment flections applied for was £5608 lla 6.1. The upset value of the three Fitzherbert sections was £730 0^ 64, and of the Arawaru section, £80 7s 61. The eleven contested deferred p.iymeut sections— 9 in Kiirantga and 2in Fitzheibert — brought £998 above the upset price, and consequently the deferred payment land brought a total of £7416 19a 6d. Besides this sum 39 sections in the different blocks were Bold for cash, realising £10,230, being an advance of £860 above the upset price.
