CAMPBELLTOWN.

(FROM OUR* OWN" CORRESPONDENT. ) Since i wrote you last a building ia being erected ia the township. I may say this is the first in Campbelltown, and I hope it will eucourage others to go and do likewise. It is being built to the order of Mr Chas. Dihl, of Campbell. The building is to be 2oft by 20ft, and ia to contain six rooms. 1 cannot say to what purpose the building is to bo used, whether public or private, but from what I can gather I think the former. However, I wish Mr Dahl success in his enterprise. I hear of another building going up, but I cannot 3ay for certain yet. The school is being rapidly puahed on by the contractors. It will be a magnificent building when finished. The rusticated front, which is 40ft in length with 14ft stud, and porch in the middle, with double windows on each side, excites the gazer's eye to admiration. The building throughout refleots great credit on the Board's architect, and also upon the contractors for the proficient workmanship. I think the settlers ought to assemble together when the school is finished, which^will be in about six weeks, and honour the occasion by having a soiree or something of the sort. However, there is a meeting convened (en masfti) on the 24th iust, in the vquare, to elect a new school committee, wlieu some of them might take up the suggestion I have made. We had Mr Mowlem here the other day collecting the dog tax and defaulting rates. He had it placarded that he would meet parties coueemed at F. Rich & Go's, but therejeemed to ho very few dogs that wanted registering and fewer defaulting ratepayers. I thiuk it would hive been to his advantage if notice had been given that the township section? had been rated, as I am sure the most of the owners are not aware of it. The potato crop, as I anticipated .has turned out most prolific. Harvesting operations have commenced here ; the yield will I am sure, give satisfaction. A six-acre riild of w!mat belonging to Mr Cias Lw. of Ci'iiphiilltown, is the beat I have seen anywhere. One of our settlers has blessed himself l>y taking unto himself a wife in the form of a very nic« young lady of ability. We will soon require a Registrar of Births and Marriages as it would save a deal of expense and trouble in going to town.
