POET OF FOXTON.

AHlttVEl>. , Novmibcr 12— Martha Reid, schooner. 75 tony, Brophy, from Wanganui, in ballast Master, agent sailed. Nil. cr,EAiir.n November 15— Kineruld, notch, 40 tons, Moore, for Lytieltoa. Thynne, Lintoa & Co., agents. # November 15— A^pasia, schooner, 4S tons, Moore, for Timaru. Master, agent. EXTOUT4. Per Emerald— 29,ooo feet timber, Freeman and Wyld*. Per Aspasia— 29,ooo feefc timbai, Bartholomew.

The topsail schooner Martha Reid rather unexpectedly showed up at Foxton on Friday last. She came from Wanganui for the purpose of loading up timber from Bichter and Oo.'s mill for Lyttelton. The ketch Emerald and schooner Aspaeia, timber laden, sailed down the river yesteiday, -where they await a favorable slant of wind to leave for their respective* destinations. The schooners Owalce and Herald, wninu were off tho bar a few days ago, have not been allowed by the pilot to enter, being too heavy a draught to cross at neap tides in tho present state of tbe bar. Yesterday morning the tides had made sufficiently to allow them to enter, bat they werenot in Bight, having probably run to Kapiti or the Sound for shelter. "They will probably enter tho river today or tomorrow. The steamers Jone Douglas and Tui, from Wellington and the South, will probobly arrive at- Foxton on Thursday. The forirfei* vessel goes to Bangitikci. The N. Z. Times of Saturday says :— " A rumor feund currency on tho wharf yesterday that the acboonur Poneke, which left Ureymouth for Cook Strait some months ago, and wns never again heard of, bad turned up at the Fiji Islands under a new name and rig, and a black coat of paint in place of tbc white which used to distinguish ber. Nobody appeared to know where the news had come from, and ss Messrs Waddell, Jl'Leod and Weir have received no information whatever on the subject, thore is every reason 1o believe that the story is a pure fabrication."
