Monday. 7 p.m. Bu ler is not to be tried on the second charge of murder at present, a nolle proscqui being entered for this sitting, the right being reserved to prefer a fresh indictment n< xt sitting, should further evidence be obtained. An attempt was made this morning to burn down the Corporation office at Napier. The matting on the floor was saturated with kerosene, but the fire was discovered before it got any hold. An inquest was held to-day on the body of a woman found floating in the harbor yesterday. A verdict of found drowned was returned.
