The s.s. Stormbird, -nth a large number of passengers and a full cargo, arrived at tbe wharf at 8 o'clook on Sanday morning from Wellington, having leffc that porfc the previous afternoon at 4.30. After discharging ber cargo yesterday morning, the Stormbird steamed down to Hartley's, for tho purpose of shipping some cargo there. _>he returned to the -wharf last evening, and will sail for Wellington at 9 o'clook thia morning. The s.s. Jane Donglas is expected to airive thiß morning from "Wellington. She will proceed to Rangitikei to-morrow. The schooner Elibank Castle is loading a cargo of sleepers for Dunedin. The sohooner Atalanta sailed from the wharf on Saturday morning, but got on the bank aboufc a qnarter of a mile down stream. She was towed eff by her crew in the dingy, and qnchored dome distance helow Mr Robinson's for the remainder of tho day. On Sunday she got down to the mouth of the river and out to sea. Her cargo consists of 19,870 feet of timber from Messrs Bartholomews' mill, Feilding. Th«j driver of the up coach yesterday re porta three vessels sailing up the coast, towards the Manawatu river, in addition to which one schooner was at anchor close inshore near the Hydrabad.
