It is believed that the British are in a position at Shepar in strong and well fortified cantonments outside Cabul, and that the hills near are in the possession of the liritish troops The British entrenchments have been strengthened, and with ample supplies of material, there is every reason to believe that the position is tenable pending the arrival of reinforcements.
