FOXTON WHARF CHARGES.
Below we publish for the information of settlers throughout the district, the amended schedule of rates levied at Foxton wharf, and which comes into operation on December 1. It is satisfactory to know that the persistent efforts made during the last eighteen mouths to have the goods classified and the rates reduced, has been at last successful. The following is the schedule : — "WHARFAGE BATES. 8. d. Receiving and delivering for all kinds of goods, at per ton, Is. Packages exceeding half a ton weight, by arrangement. Timber, for each handling by the railway, 3d per 100 feet will bo charged. (Handling not compulsory.) stokage. Storage will be ouarged on all import goods or merchandise not taken away within twelve (12) working hours at the
rate of Is per ton per day or fraction thereof j Is. On all export goods or merchandise, if not shipped per first steamer for which thov are co signed, stoiago at rhc rate:of 6d per ton per day or fraction thereof, Od. On wool, flax, tow, sheepskins and rabbil skins, per bale, per day or fraction thereof, 3d. On tallow, per cask per day or fraction thereof. 3d. O:i timber remaining over 64 working hours, por 100 feet superficial, per week, 2d. The working hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m on week days. The above storage charges do not include handling.
