ENGINEER'S REPORT.
I beg to submit thi following report for month of November. No 1 Ward. f : . The contractor for formation and metalling Lee's lino of road has b°en pushing on with the work. He has completed 1 1 chains of formalin' and metalling, and formed 14 chains. Only for the wet weather, this contract would have been finished. Wilson's liuo of road is being pushed on with. I have set. out another section of this road, and called tenders for same. Bush falling on Frecklington's line is being pushed on with, and the contractor for Bcrub clearing on Cemetery road is makivg good progress with his work. Formation on Fagan's line is finished ; tenders for metalling should be called to alloT contractors the whole summer to do the work. I have had the culverts repaired on road line between Sanson and Feilding,. as per your instructions at last meeting. No. 2 Waud. Contractors for River Bank road, .Carnarvon, are pushing on with their work. Air Hickford has finished scrubbing the 3 chains of swamp near his property ; this has been greatly appreciated by settlers since it was done. Neilson has completed the i culverts on Ciirapbelltown road. . I have set out and called tenders for formation and bridge on Taipo and Waitui roads. No. 3 Wabd. ' ' I have prepared plans and called for tenders for road line-afc Motoa, and another near Foxton, as per your instructions. N0.4 Wahd. ■ .. ■■; ; Tenders are called for 30 chains of metalling on WaMegrave's line of road, Karere. I would strongly recommend the calling for tenders for bridge over Mangaone on G-Askin's road, Ki»rere ; if done at once it will be put up chf aper than later on in the summer. No. 5 Ward. No work has been done in this Ward during the month. No. G Wakd. Mr Linton has sent in a claim for bush falling, which I attach to this report. Two other claims are sent in — one from Caspar, settler, for buslifalling on road line near his section, 5 aere3 ; and another for If acres, from Tafeta and Schrampka for similar work There is also another claim, sent in by Baker, Parkins, and Stereus, for erection of bridge and culverts, and formation on Milsora's line of road, to the exiont of £50. The work has been carried out in a satisfactory man ner. By a resolution of the County Council yesterday, the sum of £1:152 was voted to be spent ou Whale line of road at Carnarvon.
