. , gft An extraordinary scene occurred in the French Chambers en the Ifith June, on the debate on the Education Bill. M. do Cassagnac delivered >j .£ violent speech against tlie bill, in which he accused the Minister of Public Instruction of unloosing a mass of systematic calumnies against the religious orders, and of falsifying docu* merits ; and, in connection with this charge, me . turned the narao of M. Tirard. M. Gambetta, tho President, invited M. de Cassagnac to moderate his language ; but the latter nevertheless maintained the expression " falsifying." The words were received with bud m-otests, and the President was called upon to formally censure the speaker. M. Gambetta then put it to the vote that i\l. de Cassagnacbe censured and temporarily excluded from tbjti&use. At these words the Left bu^Pito applause. The Bonapartist deputies flew down in a fury to the foot of the tribune, and, • collecting iv front of the Ministerial benches began shaking, their fists ,at the members of the Cabinet present, , and culling them by every offensive term. The deputies of the Extreme left in tnvn rushed down to tho tiefence of the menaced Ministers. M. Tirard, standing tip, • replied by a threat to the insults of one of bis aggressors. All tho spectators were on their fe«t ; women were gesticulating, screaming, and brandishing their parasols and fans ; men in tin upper "cilleries added to the uproar by stamping their feet and yelling. M. Gambetta violently rang his bell, but in vain, while afc th j foot of the tribune, several deputias of the Left had ac- " tually come to blows with Bonapartist deputies, and had to be separated by the ushers. M. Gambetta rose aud % put on his hat. The sitting was' at an end. Tho deputies were requested • to retire to their respective bureaux. The questors had the galleries cleared, tm'i calm was restored .in the House ; but the agitation m the lobbies was extrenio. ,
